The purpose of this study is to explore the concept of learning in Islamic education according to the thoughts of Imam al-Syafi’i. This research is a library study with a descriptive qualitative approach, aiming to investigate Imam al-Syafi’is educational thought through textual analysis of primary sources such as Diwan al-Imam Syafi’i, Ar-Risalah, and Al-Umm, supported by relevant secondary literature. Data collection was conducted using documentation techniques, while data analysis employed content analysis methods to systematically uncover educational values contained in these works. This approach emphasizes in depth interpretation of texts to understand the Islamic educational concepts taught by Imam al-Syafi’i. The conclusion of the study reveals that the concepts of teaching and learning are fundamental principles that must be understood by educators, as the success of education greatly depends on the quality and role of teachers in shaping the future of students. Imam al-Syafi’i emphasized the importance of knowledge derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah, and upheld the value of sanad (chains of scholarly transmission) as a means to preserve the authenticity of knowledge and prevent deviation. Therefore, future research may focus on examining the implementation of Imam al-Syafi’is educational values in modern contexts, including teacher-student ethics, integration of religious and secular sciences, and the tradition of sanad in Islamic education
