The research in this thesis is motivated by the idea that Islamic education concerns the human being as God's creation, destined to be a caliph (leader) on Earth in devotion to God. One major challenge facing Islamic education is the ongoing dichotomy between religious and secular sciences. This separation creates a fragmented view of knowledge and influences how individuals perceive the value of different types of science. This thesis explores two main questions: (1) What is Mohammad Natsir’s concept of Islamic education? (2) How is his concept relevant in the millennial era? The research uses a qualitative method with a literature-based and historical approach, employing documentation and content analysis techniques. Mohammad Natsir’s educational concept emphasizes the integration of religious and worldly sciences in a universal and harmonious manner. His ideas remain relevant today, as seen in the development of educational institutions that blend both religious and general studies. For example, public schools now include religious education, and Islamic schools increasingly incorporate general subjects. This integrated approach aims to produce students who are both intellectually competent and spiritually grounded, aligning with Natsir’s vision of holistic Islamic education.
