Abstract

This research aims to analyze Sufism thought according to Prof. Dr. Simuh and its relevance in Islamic education. The method used in this research is library research, where the data collected is in the form of books or documents and magazines written by Simuh. The conclusion of the research is that Simuh's way of thinking can be identified with the goals of the Islamization of science movement. namely: First, mastery of Islamic treasures. Second, mastery of modern scientific disciplines. Third, determining the relevance of Islam for each field of modern science. Simuh sees the Taman Siswa education system as taking a middle path between Western schools which emphasize reasoning intelligence, and the Islamic boarding school education system which emphasizes the development of character and solidarity of the students.
