This study analyzes the relevance of Syekh Nawawi al-Bantani’s thought to contemporary moral education. The research is motivated by the escalating moral degradation among students and society, driven by globalization, modernization, and digital technology. Syekh Nawawi’s seminal works, including Nashā’iḥ al-‘Ibād, Mirqāt Su‘ūd al-Taṣdīq, and Tafsir Munir, offer profound insights to address these contemporary ethical crises. Employing a qualitative library research method, this study compares Syekh Nawawi’s classical doctrines with current educational realities. The primary data is derived from his original texts, while secondary data includes modern literature on character education and socio-religious trends. The findings reveal that Syekh Nawawi’s teachings possess universal values that align with modern character education frameworks. Core principles such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and compassion directly support the government’s Strengthening of Character Education (PPK) program. Implementation strategies include integrating moral values into the curriculum, reinforcing teachers as moral role models, fostering family-community synergy, and utilizing digital platforms for ethical propagation. In conclusion, Syekh Nawawi’s thought remains a vital foundation for addressing modern educational challenges, providing a strategic solution to cultivate a generation that is spiritually grounded, morally upright, and globally competitivecharacterized by strong integrity, religiosity, and global competitiveness.
